It has been a few months now since we have been living with COVID19 across the world and it is evident that humans simply get used to new ways of doing things incredibly well. We are a unique species in that way. There was so much worry about what life would be like working and living at home and yes, there is certainly times when many of us feel lost or sad or even purposeless. But COVID19 and our current reality has also given us a window.
A window of opportunity.
To assess the way we were living our lives, the work we do and what is or isn’t important to our happiness.
To reset how we used to do things; both as individuals and as businesses and services.
It has been an opportunity to remind ourselves of what is important to us – what is our purpose as individuals and to re-focus on living that way.
Establishing our ‘circle’ of connections that give us positive energy and reconnecting with them through social media, or simply to be present with our immediate circle with whom we live.
An opportunity to be better parents, better friends, better children, better humans.
The window we have all been able to look through has let us appreciate what we have and show kindness to the people and the environment that impact how we live our lives.
Some of us may have been harsher on ourselves than we needed to be. Time to overthink does that to people. Perhaps we had walked through life accepting it rather than living it as we would like. And that could be where sadness, anxiety and loneliness has come from. This is why as some countries start to release some of the restrictions placed on how we live, it is important to look beyond the window COVID19 has provided and start to re-engage. To enjoy the aspects of life that we have been missing and continue to balance what we once had in work and in life with the here and now.
